Resize an image

Make any photo smaller or bigger, set an exact size in pixels, or cap the file size. Everything happens in your browser, so your photo is never uploaded.

How to resize a photo

  1. Choose a photo, drag it onto the box, or paste it with Ctrl+V.
  2. Pick how to resize it: an exact width and height, a maximum size, or a percentage. Add a file size limit if a website needs one.
  3. Press Download. The new copy is saved and your original is not changed.

Which option should I pick?

Fit within a maximum shrinks big photos so neither side is larger than the numbers you set, and keeps the shape. It's the best choice for email, websites and forms. Exact width × height gives exactly the size you type. If the shape is different from your photo, you can crop it (and drag to choose what stays in the frame), add a border, or stretch it. Percentage scales both sides by the same amount.

Is it safe?

Yes. The photo is opened and resized by your own browser. It is never uploaded to a server, so nobody else can see it, and it works even if you go offline after the page has loaded. Saving a new copy also removes hidden camera data (EXIF), such as the GPS location where the photo was taken.
