Form and ID photo size
Resize an image to 300 × 400 pixels
Your photo comes out as a JPG of exactly 300 × 400 pixels. Drag the preview to centre your face, and set a KB limit if your form has one.
Keeping the photo in shape
300 × 400 is a 3:4 portrait shape, taller than it is wide. If your photo has a different shape, choose how to make it fit:
- Crop to fill cuts off the edges. Drag the preview or use the zoom slider to choose what stays in.
- Fit inside and add a border keeps the whole photo and fills the gaps with a color you pick.
- Stretch squeezes the photo to the new shape, which distorts it.
Where 300 × 400 is used
- Online forms and ID card systems that ask for a 3:4 portrait photo.
- Student and employee ID cards, library cards and gym memberships.
- Profile photos on job and school portals that display a tall rectangle.

Questions
Will my face be cut off?
The photo is cropped to a 3:4 shape, which suits a head-and-shoulders picture. Drag the preview to move your face to the centre and use the zoom slider to leave a little space above your head.
Can I make the file smaller too?
Yes. Open the settings and type a limit into Max file size, for example 50 KB or 100 KB. The photo stays 300 × 400 pixels and is compressed to fit.

Is it safe?
Yes. The photo is opened and resized by your own browser. It is never uploaded to a server, so nobody else can see it, and it works even if you go offline after the page has loaded. Saving a new copy also removes hidden camera data (EXIF), such as the GPS location where the photo was taken.
