Reduce file size
Compress an image
Type the largest file size you're allowed and the photo is squeezed to fit, keeping as much quality as possible.
How it works
The tool tries many quality levels and keeps the best-looking version that still fits under your limit. If even low quality is too big, it also reduces the width and height a little at a time until the photo fits.
Sizes are counted in thousands of bytes (1 KB = 1,000 bytes), so a file made for a 100 KB limit is also under 100 KB on websites that count 1 KB as 1,024 bytes.

Why is my PNG still big?
PNG files can't lower their quality, only their size in pixels. For photos, choose JPG as the format. It is usually 5 to 10 times smaller at the same look.
Is it safe?
Yes. The photo is opened and resized by your own browser. It is never uploaded to a server, so nobody else can see it, and it works even if you go offline after the page has loaded. Saving a new copy also removes hidden camera data (EXIF), such as the GPS location where the photo was taken.
